ABSTRACT

School management context that labour is the most important of all the factors of production of course, this as session remains uncontestable give its institution’s goal. However, some business executions seemed not to understand the concepts of its philosophy. For them, motivation of workers is more or less wasting of money on employees. It is to this end that this research work is being carried out with a view to x-raying the impact of staff motivation on workers’ productivity with Benue State Polytechnic as its focal point. In gathering data for this work, the research made use of questionnaire administration of which it found that motivation of works is very important on productivity for these lead to employees retention, improvement in productivity, growth and development of the institution. The research equally found that employee’s motivation lead to expenditure on the part of the institution however, its benefits cannot be commensurate with cost. To this effect, the research recommended that the institution should evaluate workers at all levels through objectives assessment techniques before and after recruitment and training exercise.
