ABSTRACT

This work is an attempt at recycling and re-use of waste paper within Mapoly Community. Since the day it is invented till today, paper is a part of human life in various ways and it is gaining even more popularity as years go by. As the consumption of paper has been exploited. Recycling of paper has become vital since the demand for paper has increased and natural resources are being exploited.

In this study, the quantity of solid waste generated within MAPOLY were assessed. Also, collection, re-use and recycling, and environmental problems were investigated. The analysis indicates that the methods of solid waste disposal within MAPOLY occur at different dumpsites.

After assessing solid waste from different dumpsites within MAPOLY, we are able to generate monthly composition of 62% waste paper, 14% plastic bottle, 18% food waste and 6% vegetable waste.
