Training and development helps to ensure that
staffs in servicing companies posses the knowledge and skills that they need to
perform their jobs effectively, take on new responsibilities and adapt to
changing conditions.
Consequently, this study investigated the
effects of manpower training and development using Port-Harcourt Electricity
Distribution Company and Dagrow Resources Limited, Port-Harcourt as its case
study. From our investigation, we discovered that the success of every
servicing company depends largely on the ability and expertise of those who
operate both at the managerial and lower levels. Such abilities and expertise
usually stems from the knowledge they posses and the trainings received.
This research covers five chapters but cannot
claim to be exhaustive on this subject and therefore recommends that other
scholars should build on this work and make further improvements on it.
