ABSTRACT

Social Intervention and welfare of vulnerable groups in Uganda of Kibaale District The study was based on three specific objectives; to analyze the level of social intervention in Kibaale district, to determine the influence of social intervention on welfare of vulnerable groups and to assess the level of vulnerability of the vulnerable groups in Kibaale district. It was based on descriptive findings that will ensure people’s ideas/opinions about the problems under investigation were clearly expressed basing on the use of qualitative and quantitative approaches that was adopted to investigate the Social Intervention and welfare of vulnerable groups in Uganda Kibaale district. Despite the services provided by both Social intervention and welfare of vulnerable groups in Uganda mainly in Kibaale District, performance is still poor. This could be due to the following impacts which include; Differences in wealth, social standing, connectedness, and other factors can lead to very different outcomes where health issues are concerned. For a middle- or upper-class family in many countries, a minor health problem — missing a few days of work, paying a modest sum for treatment — might be just an annoyance. For a poor family, it might be the difference between a roof over their heads and homelessness. or between children attending school and dropping out to go to work. Discrimination, high stress levels, employment conditions, and other factors can result in disparities in health and health care among different groups. A Stratified random sampling method and Observation method were used in the study. Interviews and Questionnaires were used to collect primary and secondary sources of data from 60 out of 72 respondents, using simple random sampling. Data analysis was done using SPSS’s frequencies and percentage means. Human capital theory was the main conceptual framework of this thesis. The basic idea in human capital theory is that an individual can be viewed as having a specific stock of human capital or capabilities, such as health, knowledge (education) and wealth, which, like any other capital item, produces a flow of services (benefits) enabling one to be productive in the market sector where they produce money earnings or in the household where they produce other commodities, e.g. child rearing, that feed directly into their utility function. Finally the report looked at the study results and gave the discussion of each finding. Therefore, here, data analysis, procedures and response rate are focused on. Then the findings conclusions and recommendations are presented. The report also showed the work plan for the whole research, the budget as distributed right from the topic inception up to research presentation, the questionnaire and finally the observation guide. According to the objective one provided to analyze the level of social intervention in Kibaale district indicates that the organization faced challenges during the time of intervention with the people in the community and it was indicated by 59% of the respondents strongly agreed which indicates that it’s difficult for the government to equally distribute the resources to the vulnerable groups in Kibaale district. According to the objective two which was to determine the influence of social intervention on welfare of vulnerable groups indicates the government is aware on the quality of environment where people are living in community planning by those who strongly agreed were 59 and this shows that the government is aware on the availability of social services of the people in the community with the response of 5 1% who strongly agreed. According to the objective three which was to assess the level of vulnerability of the vulnerable groups in Kibaale district. In the summary findings about the level of vulnerability of the vulnerable groups in Kibaale district indicate that there is a positive impact in the organization as its stated by the government that it has got the solution to solve the problems facing vulnerable group of people living in the community by providing funds to community based organization which help these people in these stature. We obtained the findings and analyze the data by use of tables and charts which helped to present data and arrive at conclusion and recommendations. This piece of work has been compiled and is presented in a very simple language easy to understand, a lot of terminologies have been avoided. I therefore welcome you to have a humble time in reading this work, There are new and knowledge building findings in the work, a lot of inspirations.
