ABSTRACT

The subject of this study is the strategies for improving workers morale and productivity in organization. The study falls within the area of the statement management. The statement of the problem is to investigate how workers morale and productivity can be improved in organization. The purpose or objective of the study is to create knowledge on how to improve workers morale and productivity. The methodology adopted in the study is descriptive and analytical based on the study of a focal organization on the strategies for improving workers morale and productivity in organization. The major findings are;
1.The job structure and design effects work satisfaction
2.That inequity in the compensation policy of an organization decreases employee morale and productivity especially when the policy is not commensurate with employee’s productivity.
3. That employee participation in management decision making increase worker morale  and productivity in organization. Based on the outcome of the findings, the following recommendations have been postulated by the researcher:
4.The researcher strongly recommends to the management of First Bank Plc that the various variables affecting the three hypothesis should be satisfied as a means of encouraging their employees. Also management should ensure the provision of adequate working environment to enable the employee to carryout effective and efficient work in order to enhance organization productivity.
5.That recognition and appreciation for job well done should be encouraged. This could be done by praising or commending a worker, either verbally or writing and where possible rewards should be given.
6    Management should identify individuals or category of worker and value before designing type of motivational factors that can be given to them.
7    There is need for the representatives in the management meeting where   the work schedule or policy were being set, this will go a long to carry this subordinates along.
8    Finally, training and staff development no doubt improves the quality of any productive organization. In the light of this, efforts should be made to extend the formal training facilities to most of junior workers services are much more demanding.
