Abstract

Complexes of Malonyl and Succinyl Dihydrazides with Copper(Ii) And Uranyl(Vl) Nitrafes and uranyl acclate U02(CII/'00)2, copper nitrate Cu (N01h and copper acetate (Cl I1C00)( 'u have lx:en synthesized using I: I metal to ligand reactant ratio. The complexes have been characterised;.ed li·mn elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, and electronic and IR spectra studies. I R data show that the ligands behave as letradmtatc ligands coordinating through both carbonyl oxygen and terminal nitrogen atoms. The observed electronic spectral bands arc charge transfers in origin for the uranyl complexes while those of the copper (! I) complexes have been assigned to d ->d transition. The acetate ions ' act as a bridging ion in all the carboxylate complexes. i nilralo bridging bidentalc polymeric structure has been proposed fi:.r the copper(II) complexes while an eight coordinate geometry has been proposed J(>r the uranyl( VI) complexes. The compounds with the exception of uranyl nitrate complex or SDII exhibit insigniticant antimicrobial activity against the test organisms.
