ABSTRACT
This study aimed at determining the challenges facing the education of hearing-impaired learners in selected schools of North Eastern province, within Garissa District, Kenya. It went ahead to identify the solutions or remedies to the challenges the hearing impaired learners face which in turn affect their academic performance in schools. Data was gathered using questionnaires and the sample constituted of head teachers, teachers, parents and learners from the four chosen schools in the area of study. Among the challenges established in this study included, inappropriate man power and limited learning resources and these drove the researcher to make a recommendation which called for a consideration of the identified challenges.
