The study was to assess the effects of feeding among pregnant mothers on babies’ health in selected health centres in Kampala district. It was guided by three specific objectives, which included; i) to identify the causes of poor feeding among pregnant mothers. ii) To examine the consequences of poor feeding among pregnant mothers, and iii) to establish strategies to improve babies’ in selected health centers of Kampala District. The study used a descriptive correlation design that use both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection. The research tools that was used in the study included the following: (1) face sheet to gather data on the demographic information (gender, age, marital status and educational level) (2) researcher devised questionnaires to determine the causes, consequences and strategies to improve babies’ health. The response modes and scoring were as follows 1); strongly disagree (2); disagree (3); agree (4); strongly agree, interviews were the other data collection technique that were used by the Researcher. The findings indicated that most respondents (60%) were females who conceive, aged between 15-20 years (3 8%), majority were primaries and 66% married. The cause of poor feeding was generally high with a mean of 3.40375 which indicated that most of respondents agreed. The consequences of poor feeding were (average mean3.1435) they strongly agreed, on preventative strategies, it indicated low on average with a mean of 2.0373. And also indicated positive-e significant relationship between the causes and consequences of poor feeding among pregnant mothers (r0.983, sig. =0.000) that if a mother has been neglected by her husband and her income is low especially during pregnancy, she’s more likely to experience the consequences of poor feeding hence affecting the baby in the womb.
