Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of violent content on Television on children. The specific objectives of the study were to find out some of the programs with violent scenes televised on Uganda Broadcasting Corporation; find out the effect of these programs with violent scenes televised on Uganda Broadcasting Corporation on children; and to discover the reasons for televising programs with violent scenes televised on Uganda Broadcasting Corporation. The methods used for data collection were questionnaires and interview guides to gather information from employees of Uganda Broadcasting Corporation. The findings revealed that violence on Television affects negatively children's behavior. The study recommended that government should regulate the programs that are televised on all stations in order to control the amount of violence depicted on the shows; there should be laws in place that limit the showing of violent scenes on televisions especially the national television; and Parents should scrutinize what their children are watching to avoid to mach programs that emphasize violence on television.
