The purpose of the study was to investigate teachers’ knowledge and attitude towards education for sustainability. One hundred and fifty (150) Secondary School Science Teachers were selected for the study using an adapted questionnaire to collect relevant data.  Their responses were analysed using descriptive statistics.  The findings of the study showed that teachers had positive attitude toward the teaching of education for sustainability, similarly, they are also aware and can explain some of the selected environmental issues raised in the study. They also clamoured for a change in the high school curriculum or syllabus in order to ensure education for sustainability. However, based on the test performance on knowledge there was significant gaps, and disparities between their attitude towards teaching sustainability concepts and knowledge, suggesting that their intentions to teach about sustainability might be unrealised if their knowledge base in sustainability education is not enhanced.  A recommendation deriving from the study is that education for sustainability and environmental education should be introduced as a matter of urgency at all levels of our education and it should be infused into the curriculum or syllabus of the schools where teachers are trained.
