ABSTRACT
The research work based on strengthening competitive advantage of rural business through quality and environmental management system was carried using Emenite Ltd Emene Enugu a company in the manufacturing sector of Nigerian Economy as a case study. This was as a result of the scope of the research work which had its main points as competitive advantage, quality system and environmental management.
To make the work a fact based one, questionnaires were distributed randomly to staffs of Emenite Ltd in other to obtain facts and information necessary to answer the three (3) hypotheses questions designed by the researcher. Later on the data obtained were analysed by the use of frequency distribution and percentage and the results were presented in tables.  The researcher noticed that total quality and environmental management are the prerequisites for reducing errors and unproductive activities in the company since the company had business advantage in view.  It was also discovered that for efficiency and effectiveness in the organizational performance total quality management must be adhered to strictly and followed to the later. Furthermore, through the analysis of data collected through questionnaires and personal interview some problems were identified and they include amongst others that the success a good quality and environmental management in an organization depends very much on the quality of management and supervisory personnel in the organization.  Planning and measurement were noticed to be haphazardly done and this is a major prerequisite for the successful implementation of quality and environmental management.
Finally from the research findings, it became quite obvious that quality and environmental management goes beyond managers rendering lip service to conventional service quality wisdom.  It also transcend a strenuous process, the success of which depends on an elusive combination of organizational,  market management process to produces results through adherence to a clear well-articulated and consistent methodology. The research work as usual was divided into five different chapters.
