This study examined the influence of perceived organizational support among workers in KPMH Nigeria, Lagos. It also examined the influence of role ambiguity on work life balance among workers in KPMG Nigeria, Lagos.
A descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The subject of the study comprised staff of Tax, Audit and Business support departments of KPMG Lagos State. A total of 85 (44 males 51.8% and 41 females 48.2%) participants filled out the questionnaires completely. The ground mean {£} for the aged data collection is 29 years while the standard deviation {SD} is 4 from the calculated data. Perceived organizational scale, role ambiguity scale and work life balance scale were used to collect relevant data for the study and the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics.
The results showed that there was significant influence of perceived organizational support on work life balance (F (1, 83)=8.75, p<.05, R2= 0.09) which implies that the low level of perceived organizational support affects work life balance. The alternate hypothesis which states that there is a significant influence of perceived organizational support on work life balance was accepted and null rejected. The result revealed that there was a significant influence of role ambiguity on work life balance (F (1, 83)=9.60, p<.05, R2= 0.10) which implies that high level of role ambiguity affects work life balance. The alternate hypothesis which states that there is a significant influence of role ambiguity on work life balance was accepted and null rejected.
The study concluded that perceived organizational support played an important role in work life balance and role ambiguity also played an important role in work life balance.
