ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to determine the survival strategies adopted by small- scale retail outlets in Nigeria. The population for this study was drawn from ogui read Enugu. This work was done in order to get the main survival strategies to be adopted by small scale retail outlets in Nigeria.To achieve this, the researcher constructed questionnaire based on research question fro mutated in chapter one. The motor findings in these studies are as follows.
Location and relocation of business at a better sight as important as the growth of the business.
Down sizing small–scale shops encourages higher profit margin from the specific field of treatment.
Discounts free gifts and bonus attract customers patronage.
Product line diversification, differentiation and market segmentation are the major strategies that can be adopted have been adopted by small scale retail outlets in order to face and win their competitors
to survive, a small scale shop must be responsive to the need of its cust5omers and it financial records must be up to date
