THE DESIGN & IMPEMENTATION OF COMPUTERISED MATERNITY INFORMATION SYSTEM
(A CASE STUDY OF IBEZIM CLINC ENUGU)
 ABSTRACT

The purpose of this project is to Design and Implementation of computerized maternity information. This Topic maternity information is very important in our Society in the medical issues. It covers all proper parameters for efficient and effective documentation of all maternity information system.
These project covers most areas of the maternity information and is written concise manner to satisfy. All the operation needed in the system are on data processing, method of generating information are all carefully analyzed in details.
A new computerized method that will reduce the problems and bottleneck faced in the manual method thereby make it easier, timely and more reliable and efficient in work chart/ flow.
ORGANISATION OF THE WORK
This project work, the design and Implementation of Computerized Maternity Information is organized into seven chapters.
Chapter one: Deals with the Introduction, problem statement, purpose of society, Aim and objective, scope or delimitation, limitations or constraints and Definition of terms.
Chapter Two: Tackles with the literature Review.
Chapter three: Deals with Description and analysis of the Existing system, input process, output, objectives of the information flow diagram, problems of the existing system and justification of the new system.
Chapter four: This is the Design and analysis of the new system include output specification and design, input specification and design, file design, procedure chart, system flow chart and system equipment.
Chapter five: This is the implementation includes program design, program chart, psedocodes, source program and test run.
Chapter six:
Deals with the documentation how people could use the program design.
Chapter seven:
Which deals with the recommendation and conclusion.

 INTRODUCTION
1.1       BACKGROUND OF STUDY:
Computer is a machine that speed up any work giving to it in a second, computer is a garbage in, garbage out machine (i.e.) it accepts input (data) and process them to produce the anticipate out puts.
It could be also seen as an electronic device which is capable of receiving and processing data automatically which is later turned out as information according to pre-determined instruction or program, it is a machine that works under certain stored software by the manufacturers automatically accepting, processing, storing and retrieving data that are needed for a particular purpose.
The processing may involve retrieving information, sorting, arithmetic calculations and other kinds of manipulations. Computer can display information electronically, print it or produce it in other form.
It is also a machine that under program control performs arithmetic and logical operations without human intervention.
