ABSTRACT
This report was about a study aimed at examining the influence of effective management on an organization's performance The study was guided by three objectives: to find out the management styles/techniques practiced, to examine the impact of management styles on employee motivation and performance and to establish the management challenges faced by employees in Mpigi Town Council and suggest remedies The sh1dy used a descriptive research survey design in which both qualitative and quantitative methods were employed. The study involved 30 respondents who were selected using systematic non random sampling. Data was collected mainly through the use of self-administered questionnaires and interview guides. Documentary review of the influence of effective management on an organisation was done. The findings revealed that effective decisions were made by the executive in Mpigi Town Council and that the council provides hailing and support to attain high education for the employees. This helps the workers to gain extra skills and hailing so as to do better at work. The researcher recommended that all employees in organizations be involved in decision making. Giving employees more responsibility and decision-making authority increases their control over the tasks for which they are held responsible and better equips them to carry out those tasks. Trapped feelings arising from being held accountable for something one does not have the resources to carry out are diminished. Energy is diverted from self-preservation to improved task accomplishment.
