ABSTRACT The purpose of the study was intended to assess the contribution of education on poverty reduction in Makindye Division in Kampala District. The researcher was guided by general objectives and used random and purposive sampling techniques to collect data, a sample of 45 respondents dealing in different institutions was selected, and a qualitative research design was used to examine the feelings of study respondents in finding out the contribution of education towards poverty reduction. The study reconmiended providing suitable systems for identification of the interest of student, initiate programs to know the skills of students and practical demonstration, district and school administrators to advocate for and create a whole range of school approach to physical activity. Finally, the researcher suggested that it is a collective responsibility of the Government, Non Governmental Organizations, and the community to work hand in hand to fight poverty through education in Makindye Division, Kampala District Uganda.
