APPENDIX I: QUESTIONNAIRE 52

ABSTRACT The study sought to examine the impact of urbanization on health service delivery in Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District, Uganda (1986-2016). The main study objective was to examine the effects of urbanization on health service delivery in Kyengera Town as indicated in chapter one. Chapter two focuses on literature review as it was indicated that it is through urbanization that people who are from rural areas are deprived of basic amenities like school, hospitals. banks and so on but due to urbanization these people get these facilities and hence it helps in improving the overall living standard of people. This can also be instrumental in improving on the delivery of health services hence contributing to improved social welfare of the people. The research relied on the conceptual framework as a guide. Chapter three concerns research methodology and under here, the study largely applied qualitative research design. To a lesser extent, it also applied quantitative research design where descriptive statistics were used to reflect aspects of perception, feelings, experiences, facts and emotional feelings of the study respondents in finding out the impact of urbanization on health service delivery in Kyengera Town. Chapter four consists of study findings where by the researcher found out that the most respondents involved in the study were men due to the societal beliefs that the males are hardworking and hence more capable of handling health service delivery in urban centres. In chapter five, the study concludes that through industrial revolution, more people have been attracted to move from rural to urban areas on the account of improved employment opportunities. Industrialization has increased employment opportunities by giving people the chance to work in modern sectors in job categories that aids to stir economic developments. The study recommends that the government should also encourage sustainable use of urban resources and support an economy based on sustainable environment such as investment in green infrastructure, sustainable industries, recycling and environmental campaigns, pollution management, renewable energy, green public transportation, and water recycling and reclamation.
