ABSTRACT

This study seeks to find the factors that influence the need for training in Communications Authority Kenya. Library research, questionnaires and the internet will be used to gather the information needed. The problem that the Communications Authority Kenya undergoes with training is highlighted. It is more of a positive problem statement where we can view what makes the organization want to continue training its employees. The company’s history of where training begun as it was being established show that it was not introduced to it recently. The study further goes to identify the independent variables which are; motivation, monetary funds, time and resources. These variables help facilitate the need for training. In theories, we will be taken back to Pavlov’s, Thorndike’s and Skinner’s experiments which mainly involved animals in the study of their behaviors to certain stimulants. This behaviorist theory is later divided into two: Reinforcement theory and social learning theory. Reinforcement theory tries to explain how people are motivated to training through various outcomes which could be either positive or negative. On the other hand, social learning theory tries to explain how people learn through observing other’s behaviors and then assimilate it to their own by motivating themselves. The Cognitive theory also tries to explain on how human beings perceive things through learning; which gave out a result of that humans perceive occurrences or things in a form of pattern that can be connected.  In our day today lives, training is seen as a step ahead in learning so as to acquire knowledge, skills and understanding. The research will be carried out by use of questionnaires and a thorough data analysis be carried out on the respondents answers. The sample size aims on getting at least 30 respondents who are willing to partake in the study.
