The study assessed the effect of work force diversity on employee performance using Kaliro District Local Government as a cases study. It was guided by the following objectives which included, to assess the effect of gender diversity on employee performance at Kaliro District Local Government, to examine the effect of age diversity on employee performance at Kaliro District Local Government, to examine the effect of ethnic diversity on employee performance at Kaliro District Local Government, to assess the effect of education diversity on employee performance at Kaliro District Local Government. The researcher used descriptive survey design, the sample size consisted of 30 respondents who are the staff members of Kaliro District local Government. The study concluded that the District does not have a good practice of not discriminating employees while hiring and recruiting basing on gender and also providing career development that includes women within the District even has a good job of attracting and hiring women. The employees feel positive about age diversity within the workplace and they do not experience lack of bonding with people of different age group which is good for the District as it promotes good interpersonal relationship within the District. Furthermore, the District does good practice of providing employees with equal opportunities for training and career development which improves on employee skills to perform. The District is concerned with the employee’s customs, cultures, and values and also the employer hire and recruit candidates of different races. Employees at work do not experience lack of confidence due to their education background which is good for the diverse workforce within the District and also the District provides paid study leave to some employees who further their education while others not discovered from the study findings. The study recommended that the organization should come up with the best management practices in order to manage the diverse work force and get results out of them. Managers and leaders within the organization have to effectively implement these practices like diversity training and development, talent management and others which may lead to increased employee performance. The group or team leaders should include all members irrespective of their diverse nature in problem solving and decision making which helps in detecting performance gap thus improving the overall District performance through creativity and innovation.
