ABSTRACT

This research work aims at examining the distribution systems of Dangote Flour Mills Plc.-Kano office. From the channels it employs to strategies in logistics and to evaluate how effective they are in achieving set down goals and objectives. This project will help to show the effect of inefficient distribution system to both distributors and producers of a product. To the distributors the problem maybe in form of high purchases and scarcity of the commodity while for the producer it may be having higher cost and low profit from sales. Furthermore, this project will help provide solutions that arises due to insufficient distribution system to both the distributors and producers alike, it will help by providing ways on how effective distribution leads to cost minimization, high profit and the different channels through which this distribution can be carried out at least cost and making the organisation to grow higher than their competitors. Data’s will be gathered from the field of study by observation and questionnaire will be administered to distributors and management of the company. This expected data will be presented in tables as percentages. Finding from this result of the expected data analysis will show effect of effective management and distribution and its positive impact on sales volume, increase in profit and growth of an organisation. In conclusion, this project will help show the impact of effective distribution strategies. Recommendations will be given on how the company can improve its distribution activities by listing ways in which the organisation can follow to increase services delivery and take advantage of the opportunity created by ban on importation of some products and better co-ordination of efforts.
