ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to examine efficacy of mentorship as a veritable tool for entrepreneurship action on entrepreneurship education. The study seeks to determine the relationships between formal mentoring and entrepreneurship action on entrepreneurship education. Furthermore, scanty studies by other authors were also reviewed. However, both primary and secondary sources of data were exploited. The primary data were collected by administering questionnaire, whilst the secondary data were collected from relevant journals, internet, textbooks etc. SPSS and Chi-square analytical methods was used to analyzed the data obtained from the questionnaire. Findings revealed that favorable and direct relationship is present between Business education/Academic mentoring and entrepreneurship action on entrepreneurship education. The researcher therefore recommends that formal network of entrepreneurship teachers should be constituted, spear-headed by the major business schools who have invested the most in this area. The network could be web or e-mail-based. Teachers would have the opportunity to swap teaching innovation experiences, teaching material, and assessment methods, without having to incur expenses.
