ABSTRACT
The role of Management information system (MIS) in business organizations, has evolved over time to become an integral part of its operations. However most times, emphasis are laid on the roles and importance of adopting information system and information technology. This study therefore, is designed to explore the impact of management information system on business performance. Primary data was obtained through the administration of questionnaire. The sample size consisted of 75 respondents. Spearman’s Correlation analysis and chi – square was adopted to analyze the data obtained. The result of the analysis indicated that only business process management had an impact on business performance. The remaining two components of management information system: information system (had no impact on business performance ) and information technology(had no significant impact on business performance).The study concludes that the performance of a business is largely impacted by the management of its business processes. It is thus recommended that business organizations should improve on the management of business processes in terms of operations, introduce flexibility in the nature or pattern and structure of MIS, attention should also be paid to the processes adopted by the business organization as well acquiring and adopting appropriate and suitable techniques of process improvement to meet MIS’ growth and expansion in the organization.
