ABSTRACT

This is a frank, courageous and penetrating piece of work. A brilliant piece of reflection by a scholar, a practical solution in financing small scale industries in Nigeria has gone through very dramatic changes within this decade. The industries has grown beyond optimistic expectation. Small scale industries operation were substantially deregulated, competition increased and industries were forced to be more innovation and service oriented.
Unfortunately, the uncontrolled rate of growth of the industry has produced undesirable side – effects like unethical competition among small scale industries, loss of professionalism in the services increase in fraud and other forms of financing small scale industries mal feasance. 
One major setback in financing small scale industries in Nigeria is the death of well educated and professional trained manpower. The solution to this problem does not lie in the self defeating practice of poaching for staff which seems to have been popularized in the industry. The solution lies in the development of appropriate programmes for management and means of raising funds from financial institution and manpower education and training for the industries.
A unique feature of this project work is that, it uses quantitative and qualitative illustration to explain ways in financing smalls scale industries for better comprehension by readers. Each chapter has some self appraising questions that assist students in evaluating the extent to which they understand the important points contained in the project work.
This project work draws from the experience of a professionally qualified and a well researched academic in industrialization, who has kept very abreast of development in the industries. Small scale industries in Nigeria covers all aspects of routine in financing small scale industry practices.
