ABSTRACT
The study investigated the Use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Management of Students’ Academic Records in Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State. The study was guided by five research objectives and five research questions. Survey research design was used for the study. The study consists of a total population of 16,934 students and staff of F.U.T, Minna; a sample size of 376 was used based on the Krejice and Morgan table for determining sample size for a given population. The instrument used for data collection was questionnaire. 376 questionnaires were distributed out of which 280 were filled, returned and used for the analysis. This analysis was presented using tables and frequency. The analysis revealed that most of the departments used both manual and computerised filling system methods, the use of ICT in processing students’ transcript is high, e-registration is very effective and the use of ICT for e-examination is fairly effective. The researcher therefore recommended among others that those challenges faced during e-registration and e-examination such as network problem, difficulties in using phone for e-registration, technical problems such as sudden short down and rebooting of system, system hang, students were unable to submit, network failure, inadequate time during examination. The above problems should be tacked by the University Management to make e-registration and e-examination a huge success.
