ABSTRACT

The objective of this research is to design and implement a computerized Online Bank Verification Number System for Nigerian Bank Customers in the Diaspora. This project was motivated because of the fact that Nigerian bank customers in the Diaspora are barred from having access to their fund in Nigerian banks without BVN, therefore they are required to come back for biometric capture before they can operate on those accounts. The methodology adopted for this research is Structured System Analysis and Design Methodology (SSADM). This research work also analyses the existing mode of operation in the banking industry which includes the need to implement the newly designed Online Bank Verification Number system using PHP as the programming language.The software will be designed and implemented using PHP programming language, HTML, CSS and MYSQL as Database. This language was chosen because of its oriented features for developing online application. After implementation of all functions, the system is tested in different stages, and it was successful for its purpose. The result shows that through a designated online platform, Nigerian bank customers in the Diaspora will be able to enrol for their BVN and procure their unique Bank Verification Number.
