INTRODUCTION

1.0 Introduction:

This chapter presents the introduction of the study, statement of the

problem, objectives, research questions, relevance of the study, scope,

research method, data collection techniques, ethical considerations and

limitations.

1.1 Background of the study.

Buliisa district formerly a county was curved out of Masindi district in 2006

and boarders Lake Albert an area that has been found to be rich in oil

deposits. The district comprises six sub-counties and a town council which

is the main urban center. Agriculture and livestock production are the main

economic activities. Fishing is another major economic activity, particularly

in the areas bordering Lake Albert.
