ABSTRACT Freedom of Expression is becoming a theme of growing importance and visibility in Uganda. The study will aim at investigating how freedom of expression is commonly violated and what recommendations are currently being enforced in the effort of curbing the evermore increasing violation cases of this fundamental right in Uganda. It will tiniher explore the gaps or contradictions in the existing and new laws that limit the enjoyment of freedom of expression in Uganda- which in return is expected to trigger a comprehensive review of these laws in addition to enforcing them- while drawing from the domestic, regional and international laws. Qualitative methods will be used in this research with interviews and content analysis being central. This research proposal will identify and generate a list of recommendations among other things that the government of Uganda should follow or adhere to with regards to fostering an enjoyable enviromnent for freedom of expression as clearly laid down under the constitution, and international laws. Secondly, that the laws prohibiting freedom of expression in Uganda should be increasingly revised, to meet the international standards by way of revoking clauses that are hostile and unfriendly to the enjoyment of freedom of expression.
