ABSTRACT
This study examined the availability of computer assisted language facilities in Osun state model schools and determined the influence the facilities availability has on students’ performance in English Language. The study further established the influence of the facilities utilization has on students’ performance. They were with view of improving students’ performance in English Language. The study population comprised students of all model schools in Osun State. The students’ of all the model schools in Osun State. The sample consisted of 50 students selected randomly from each of four selected model schools to make a total of 200 students. Two self-developed instrument; English Language performance Test and structure questionnaire were used for collecting relevant data for the study. Collected data was analyzed using frequency count, percentage and simple regression analysis. The statistical analysis revealed that; most of computer assisted language facilities are available in secondary schools in osun state, computer assisted language facilities availability significantly influenced students’ academic performance and students performance in English Language is significantly influenced by utilization of CALF. Base on this, it was recommended that government should make effort in revisiting curriculum with a view of incorporating the use of computer assisted facility in learning of English Language, there should be adequate funding and provision of computers in secondary schools for use in learning process, the authority should see that government come to their aid without any further delay in purchasing and installation of computer and ICT facilities, amongst others
