ABSTRACT
Boko Haram is an Islamist-jihadist organization that has adopted a violent way kidnapping, slaughtering and killings of innocent people, bombing of mosque, churches, institutions and other governmental parastatals mainly in the northeast Nigeria all in the name of religion, then to a political matter, making it difficult to know its vision and mission. This study explores the implications of the Boko Haram terrorist activities on the northeast Nigeria’s development. The central argument of this study is, this terrorist group has posed serious threats to the economic, social, political, and religious aspect on the people in the northeast. Using both primary and secondary data collection method, the study identify among other things that Boko Haram terrorism have claimed thousands of lives and displaced inestimable properties, rendering the northeast region as the most dangerous zone in Nigeria. That such threat affects the region’s stability and development prospect.
