ABSTRACT

This study focused on the adoption and usage of new media technologies in broadcast station using NTA Makurdi and Radio Benue as a study. The survey methodology was used for the study in which questionnaires were distributed to 60 respondents in both NTA and Radio Benue with 57 or 94% dully filled and returned. The findings revealed that although new media is very significant to programming in Broadcast stations, it usage level in both NTA and Radio Benue is very low. The study however recommends that broadcasters should make use of the new media quite often to increase their productions. Also considering the expenses involved in acquiring the services of new media facilities like the internet service provider, government should assist broadcast stations with funds to help them in purchasing the latest new media equipment.
