ABSTRACT
This study, is concerned with investigations into the effect of “Government industrial policy on small business development in Nigeria (2009-2014)”, A case study of Enugu North and Enugu South Local Government Areas. In pursuance of the investigation, the study used 67 persons out of a population of 80 persons.
Data gathered were through primary and secondary sources. As regard to primary sources questionnaires and interview were extensively made use of. The data were then presented, analyzed and interpreted using tables in simple percentage, textual and statistical model of data analysis.
Based on the above, I was discovered that the right kind of government policies will certainly bring about improvement in the small business section in the Nigerian economy if there would be adequate government infrastructure, public awareness, and application/ implementation of government policies.
On the issue of recommendation, the government should create an enabling environment for industrial growth and expansion by matching theory with practice.
Although this work is limited to small enterprises, other companies and other researchers would find it useful as a reliable source of reference.
