ABSTRACT

This project is aimed at automating the process involved in generating students examination result that would ensure speedy processing and release of the student’s results, eliminate error due to manual processing, prohibit doctoring of results and prevent lost of examination results.

The software system was developed within the Microsoft Visual Studio environment. ASP.NET is used to create the pages. The database is generated and managed using MySQL. The codes were scripted using C#. The software application is made web enabled to encourage remote processing and access by staff and students alike.

The software application was successfully developed, tested, and found to be working as expected. It has some good qualities which include reduction in processing cost, reduction in processing time, and elimination of results duplication as well as restriction on result mutilation. The software is easy to use. It is reasonably secured, and enforces data integrity.

With this software, the processing of students’ examination results is automated to a large extent, thereby increasing accuracy and efficiency.

Because the software is web enabled, the system should be inculcated with advanced security measures like biometric authentication, firewall and intrusion detection system (IDS).

Keywords: Automating, Examination result, Speedy processing, Manual processing, Software system, Web enabled, Remote processing, Result mutilation, Result duplication, Software application, Software, Data integrity.
