ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research project was to examine the Effects of Administrative materials on academic performance in Biology in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State. For the study, in order to achieve these goals, four (4) research questions were asked, and converted to 4 null hypotheses to effectively direct the study. A 25 item questionnaires was constructed by the researcher and validated by the project supervisor and was then used in generating data from 205 JSS-III graders from 6 (out of 18) public secondary school in the study area using the ex-post facto research design. Generated data were analyzed using independent t-test and Pearson product moment correlation statistics. It was revealed that teachers’ use of administrative materials; instructional materials utilization and teachers selection of administrative materials all significantly influences students academic performance, while no difference in academic performance exists by students’ gender when taught with, or without administrative materials while it was concluded that use of administrative materials generally affect students academic performance positively, it was concluded among others that teachers should endeavour to improvise teaching aids for each beginner, their receptivities would make permanent impressions in their mentalities for better future improved performance in their academics. Finally, some suggestions for further study in this similar topics were made.
