ABSTRACT

This

research work investigates the impact of computer on the performance of office

professionals in selected organisation in Kaduna Metropolis. The study covered

two ministries, one bank and one college namely; Ministry of Budget and

Economic Planning, Ministry of Information, First Bank Nigeria and Police

College respectively. The nature of office professionals` work has changed

drastically with more professional managers keying in their own correspondences

and more files being stored electrically. As the reliance on technology

continues to expand in offices, the roles of office professionals have greatly

evolved. Four research questions were developed to guide the study. Data was

collected using a sample size of three hundred and four two (342) respondents.

Questionnaires were administered and data analysed using mean score method. The

findings of the study revealed that knowledge on use of computer and

availability contributed positively to productivity of both office

professionals and the organisations. Conclusions were drawn and recommendations

made based on the finding.
