Methods: The stratified random sampling technique in selecting the samples used for this study. Both the primary and secondary sources of data collection are used to obtain the needed data for this study.
Results: A total of 88 staffs of different financial institutions with an average age of ±40 responded to the questionnaire distributed. Based on the opinion of the respondents, four hypotheses are tested using the chi-square (x2) statistical test with the confidence level at 0.95 or 95%.
Conclusions: the study shows that the Nigerian financial sector has been severely affected by the global economic meltdown.
