REPORT ON THE FABRICATION OF SIEVE SYSTEM
ABSTRACT
The construction of sieves system was carried out in the Engineering workshop, Institute of management and technology, Enugu.
The aim of this project is to fabricate a sieve system, which is capable of separating solid particles of various sizes.
The construction was carried out in order to analyze the sizes of particles.
The component parts of the sets of sieve and their dimension are as follow:
Height of sieve –80mm
Number of sieve –4
Diameter of sieve –230mm
Shape of sieve –cirular
Height of sieve set –760mm
Mesh/hole sizes – top –6.0mm, 2nd 5.0mm, 3rd 3.0mm bottom 1.0mm downwards respectively.
In constructing of this sieve system, some factors were taken into consideration and they are:
-the capacity of the sieve
-the type of mixture that can be filtered in it
-the types of properties and decomposition of the mixture.
-the type of material to be used for constructing the sieve.
The cost which is the determinant, factor in fabrication of any equipment.
These factors, help greatly in the fulfillment of the objective of this project study.
At the end of the fabrication, a sieve equipment was construct with specified dimension.

INTRODUCTION
Generally, all chemical engineering mostly deals with the construction of sieve among others construction in order to fulfill the theory of separations technique. This construction is carried out so as to achieve and put to practice chemical process with the help of some component for equipment construction procedures.
Sieving equipments produces a nice separation of solid particles, although artificially, by allowing the social particles to pass through the pores or the a pasture, which consists of orderly, arrange set of sieves which is arranged in manner with their facilities sizes and shapes.
Sieving equipments operates satisfactory with reasonable coarse and fine particles, so that separation can be done they have high sensitive efficiency, but few have been built since the development of separation of particles, because of the lost and the procedures involved and the labour needed to clean the sieve plate and to handle the sieve equipment.
Moreover, in the construction of set of sieve, we have to bear certain qualities in mind to portray such as determination of size and shape of the equipment which contributes to the efficiency of the equipment.
However, the operation has evolved as a particle at rather than a theoretical science, nevertheless, its theory has received steady attention since the pioneering work of some important scientist half a century ago.
They are usually used in large industries like mining, coal, gold, diamond and pharmaceutical etc, because of its importance and efficiency and would not be seen commonly.
Above all, the purpose of this project is to fabricate a set of sieve which sole aim is for separation of solid particles of different size by passing through the mesh with the help of shaking and larger particles retained on the mesh (oversized) and the particles that passes through (undersized) enables us to separate the particles.
