A few centuries ago, one might not have needed to keep fit or eat healthily. Today a lot of diseases and sickness are rampant due to obesity, malnutrition and not eating a balanced diet meal. In the 21st century, information is moving at the speed of light and people need to gain access to a system that recommends a meal plan for its use according to individual needs. In today’s world, where access to see a dietician is a bit too pricey. In Nigeria, the problem of obesity and malnutrition has an issue for a long. The problem here is that people find it hard to meet with dieticians and to also keep track of the food they consume per time. Most people are not aware of the need to eat healthily. The aim of this study is to develop a web-based dietician system that generates a 7- day meal plan to people. This was achieved using UML tools for modelling of designs, HTML & CSS for the interface, MySQL as a database management system for storage of data and PHP as server-side scripting programming language. This application has been developed to generates a balanced diet meal which plan benefits the user health and also reduce the over-dependence of dieticians who may not be readily available.
