ABSTRACT The study "Training and Employee Performance was carried out at Amal Express Money Transfer in Garowe in Somalia with specific objectives of identifying the profile of employees at Amal, determining the training methods and the effect performance apart from training at Amal Express Money Transfer. Literature was also reviewed to comprehend the problem of this study from various authors. The study was carried out using descriptive correlation research design to investigate the relationship between training and employee performance and relied on sample3 9 respondents through the use of questionnaires. The study established that the profile members was such that the males were the majority and the majority fell between 26-35, while most of these respondents were married. Better still most of them were educated to a level of university, and with a work experience of between 3 to 5 years. The methods of training used included both on the job and off the job training methods where on the job methods included induction and orientation and job rotation. On the other hand the off the job methods included seminars, workshops and lecturers. The study fmiher established the other factors that may affect performance even in the presence of training to be management style, lack of inclusiveness, environment, lack of motivation and competency and lack of proper communication. The study also concluded that there are more males than females because males are more acquainted with the work environment. The majority of the labomforce are below than 35 years as age group is flexible. Because of their education qualification most of the respondents were qualified for the job yet many were married and thus responsible at work, yet with a better work experience given the number of years. More still the on-the job training is carried out within Amal and provides acquaintance with a given work situation yet off the job helps the employees to draw comparisons and contrasts to gain from a wider scope. The study recommends revising management style; identify best training program; decisions be inclusive of employees; promote the morale of employees and encouraging e improvement of skills.
