ABSTRACT
This study is on the Roles play by specialized Banks in promoting the activities of Agricultural cooperative, using a case study on Bank of Agriculture, Enugu Zone Office Independence Layout Enugu State. The objective of this study is to: Identify the actual roles play by Bank OF Agriculture in promoting the activities of Agricultural cooperatives; determine to what extent agricultural cooperative have benefited from the bank in terms of financing, equipment leasing in promoting their activities; identify problems militating against the effectiveness of bank of agriculture; and offer suggestions and recommendations on how the bank (BOA) can improve in her services towards enhancing the easy accessibility of credit to farmers. In the course of seeking for information primary and secondary data were used. The primary data involves direct observation and the use of questionnaire. Information from secondary data was obtained from the use of text books, journals, web-sites, related research work etc. The sample was selected through random sampling and the statistical method used for the data analysis is simple percentage. This study adopted a non- parametric method of analysis which involves chi-square method to achieve the stated objectives.
